Lost my Dad Christmas morning

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by wahoo54, Dec 26, 2010.

  1. I feel for you mate. I lost dad in the early eighties and still think about him when I use some of his old tools. Special time of the year for me 'cause his birthday was Xmas eve. As time goes you will feel better. Sometimes I just drift off and think of the really good times we had. You will too. Stay strong, That's what he would have wanted.

  2. very sorry for your loss, always remember your time with him and he will live on inside you forever. prayers for you and your family...Dave

Losing my Dad was tough too. My Dad was a computer progammer who worked for North American Aviation. He was a weekend mechanic, and a good one. We worked on a lot of cars growing up.

You will NEVER ever not think about him. The memories will come in waves. There will be good days and not so good days of trying to hold it together thinking about him.

Sounds like your Father was a good man, may God grant you comfort at this time of loss...

Sorry to hear about your Dad, sounds like he was my kind of guy. We lost our oldest son last Christmas to cancer, he was 37. It is hard to deal with but we just try to remember the good times and it helps you cope. My dad passed in 88 and I still miss him alot but time helps and the memories are priceless. He is the guy that gave my a lifelong love of cars and especially Buicks. Just keep thinking good thought and hang in there and know that your Dad loved you and you will meet again.

Jerry, so sorry for your loss. My Dad passed away 4 years ago, I can't tell you how much I miss him. I wish I could be half the man he was.

    Sorry for your loss.

Now it is up to you to make sure he lives in the things he taught you. That could be a tough job for you as you know how cool he was. Living up to my father's expectations have been one of the hardest things I have ever done.

Sorry for your loss - continue on his legacy and love of cars with your kids. Let them know how good a mechanic grandpa was and maybe build a car togeteher in his memory.
