    I like it!
What are the heads you are using? I've seen the Corsa 140hp 4 carb heads but never a head with 3 ports in it. Did you make them or buy them? On the stock Turbo motor I never understood why the factory didn't use at least the 4 carb heads.
How does it run? Any time slips? Runs with a G-Force?
    Fill us in.

This should be a how to article on how to get your corvair to stop throwing its alt/fan belt!

    Yeah, I've seen them a lot on Capri's, Cortina's, Datsuns, BMW's, VW's, etc...

Maybe they are rare now, but they must have been pretty popular at some point.

Hmmm..back in the 60's I had a stock Spyder, but some other dude had a Corvair with a Judson supercharger. He would run the thing at our local 1/10th mile packed dirt dragstrip & totally clean up. I like it ....I like it!!

im using 63 turbo heads that i machined of the intake and welded on a tube for each
port.isky 280 cam and forged pistons . i reworked a 250 ci in line 6 hei dist to fit the vair
housing and pump drive, i now run a electric fan from a chevy citiation with air,
the bat is now in the trunk and the bat box is now an over sized oil cooler and oil filter
. it makes 6 pounds of boost under driven and 11 with the 1 to 1 drive. hay it kicks ass for a corvair

some people have a problem keeping a belt on a vair
the trick is use the right belt. i get mine from California corvair
i drive a 66 corvair rag top with a turbo and run the hell out and never kick a belt off of it

My old boss had a home made sports racer with a mid engine Corvair and a B&M blower made for a 2.2 Chrysler. Thing ran good. Bet yours runs better.

I was into Corvairs for years and still have a stash of parts for project down the road. Several of the corvair gurus have said the electric fan setup like the one you are running does not work. not enough pressure nor air flow to keep the cylinder heads from nuking the seats out. what are your experiences so far doing this and have you seen an increase in cylinder head temperature?

  21. The 4-spoke "daisy" Americans were called "Libres", if I'm not mistaken.

    Cool'vair!

Be interesting to see that engine on the dyno even that 4 takes some parasitic power to get moving...

  25. pretty neat set up. I want one.. except mine would have to be a convertible...

Why worry about "parasitic power" when the end result is more power? If the engine didn't have to drive the oil pump it would make more power also..:D

Was that Tommy Knolf ? I had to run him at the fair grounds with my full flathead in a 34 2dr., made me look like I was going backward.
