hudson 41 coupe, sled or gasser

nope ,no permanent dragstrip in france only 6 races a year on little country airport.
for us (french) gasser it's "gasser looks like "....!

The Hudson would not have been a likely choice for a gasser being pretty big and heavy. I think you have made a good choice with the sled look.Your car looks pretty complete and sound and that is good news as early forties Hudsons aren't common even in the USA ( I have a '40 coupe) good luck with the project keep us posted on your progress.

Looks too nice to fuck up as some kind of goofy gasser, I'd vote resto-rod with mild touches, these things don't need a lot of tweaks, they look pretty damned good from the factory. I have a '42 coupe and if you want to do a gasser, use mine, it's nowhere near as nice. Also it needs another hood (short wheelbase) -

 

The nose on that puppy screams Gasser!!!!

are you sure that gassers are the new red red wheels? I thought metal flake roofs were the new Red wheels and gassers were the new rat rods!?!?! can somone please clarify this for me?

 

With that large hood nose, it would make a great gasser. Stick that nose up and be proud, gasser, gasser, gasser.

 

I hope the gasser idea is a joke! Taildragger for sure!!

AT LAST! Someone comes up with something other than flavour of the week. I could think of half a dozen variations, NONE of which involve sled or "gasser". Has it REALLY finally reached the point were EVERY freakin car has to be built in one of the following themes? Rat, gasser, traditional or sled? I guess just plain old hot rods really ARE dead.

 

I say hotrod it. Put some 17" in front and 18" in back with some big brakes. Make Boyd Cottington proud! Definitly not a gasser.

 

Sled but with the 400 and 4 speed. If my 52 had the stones to back it up, it would have 12 spokes up front and pie crusts in the back with the chop top. Everyone gets butt hurt on here about categories. Make a sled that hauls ass. Don't get into that "if its low it has to be slow" mentality. build a hot rod.

 

my vote is a early 60's sled, slammed, maybe some metalflake paint, tons of roll n pleat, maybe some desoto ribbed bumps.... damn i just drooled all over my self.... wait that is drool, right? damn... get the mop!
