My great-uncle was a bigtime moonshiner and ran some pretty hot cars for his day. I grew up hanging around my grandfather's country garage. He rebuilt the 59AB flathead in my first car. My uncle started racing flathead Fords in the 50s on the dirt ovals here in NC. A '39 top-loader Ford tranny that he raced will see new life in my Model A. If we were lucky, we kids got to pile in the back of his '36 Ford coupe dirt track racer when he tried it out on the back roads near home. Hot rods are just in my blood. My Model A had been a Station Wagon, but the body and some Woodie-specific metal parts needed replacing. All that added up to more than I could invest or fabricate, so I bought and modified Huckster body plans. Since it is a non-standard body anyway, I am going the hotrod 4-banger route. Joining the Ford A Speed Technology (FAST) club has been a help to that end.
Hello Andrews777, What year was the Model A Station Wagon? Did you save the Station Wagon parts, or are they "history"?
