Hot Rods Who Else Out There Owns a Chev Roadster?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Jimmy B, Mar 10, 2010.

  1. Norm, Countn' carbs roadster is a '31 not '30, different body. Use the measurements as a guide.

'29 and '30 body very similar. '30 and '31 chassis very similar, of not identical. Reasons for changing the chassis in '30 but not the body? I dunno, but I guess Fisher & Co had something to do with that.

  3. In the roadsters '29 and 30 are near identical. '31 is closer to the '32 and rides on 109" wheelbase instead of the 107" of '29-30. The doors for '29-'31 should be the same. '29-30 Cowl and 1/4s are different to '31.

Build up of a 1930 roadster.

This sweet roadster at the '10 Goodguys Chicago made the trip worthwhile. I want this exact car. These cats wheeled up in the rain, no problem.

Found this guy in the woods next to the car tent at my gf's house. Her dad has a 31 Chevy and I think he was going to use this for something, but changed his mind. I'm trying to get him to let me have it. I think it might be kinked in the middle though. Google searches tell me it's a late 20's truck? Yes? No?

Sorry for total crap phone pictures. It has wooden spoked wheels, a cowl, and a flatty 4 with a trans still there.

Wow that is awesome. Too bad so few have survived. I'd love to do a '34 roadster, full-fendered with 16-inch wires and a warmed-up 235.

The dash area looks like 27 chevy. I am not sure about it being a truck.

The only things I did not do was the pen striping and the upholstery.

On mine the Upper Panel is 13 1/2" in the center and goes to 14 1/2" at the top of the quarters.

Decklid is right at 30" on the sides and 30 1/2" on the center line.

Lower Panel measures 7 1/2" all the way across.

  20. BCT, that will make a great roadster. If you need anything, like a stock 29 front or rear axle, just ask.

I have the remains of a 24 roadster in my iron pile, most of the body and part of the 1/4 eliptic suspension.

Haven't been on in a while... I have a 29 Chevy roadster project that was going good until I hit a "bump" in the road. I bought the partial remains of another 29' Chevy roadster that had all the parts I am missing out of AU but they never made the boat. $800 in the shitter

Still looking for some roadster 1/4 panels. If I can't find them soon, I will be cutting into my extra coupe quarters and trying my hand at metalshaping....[IMG]

More rare than finding a dinosaur?
Maybe, I did find an all steel 1933 Chevy roadster.
Including full fenders, dash, & rumble seat.
It will be built up as an early 1960s hot rod.

Well, I've had two 33-34 Chevy 3 window coupes and have always regretted selling them.

The "one that got away" was an all steel 1934 Chevy 3W coupe I found in Northern California with original yellow plates & registration dated 1961. Powered by a 1956 265 SBC with cast iron powerglide and 3x2 97 carbs. I sold it to my twin brother in Nebraska so it didn't go too far.

When I found this roadster in South Dakota last year I jumped on it. The guy I got it from purchased it at the Goodguy's show in Colorado in 2008. I have not done any further research on the history of this car. My brother picked up the car from SD and it currently sitting in his garage in Omaha next to the 1934 coupe.

This 1933 roadster is very complete & clean for it's age and that's important since they are basically impossible to find parts for. There were only 2,876 roadsters produced in 1933. This is the only "real" roadster project I've seen for sale in 10 years of looking for 30s Chevy iron.

I'm really looking forward to getting started on the early-60s build of this all steel roadster. I will never sell this one!
