I just bought a 49 fleet and am thinking about chopping it, but I really just want all you chevy queers to send my your best 49 to 52 pics, I sold my last one to a guy in new zealand, I think. My computer crashed and I lost a ton of info to get it back up. Time to refill the files.
One of the best ones ever done was a green 49 Chevy chopped fastback featured in the 1983 book Lead Sleds by Mike Key. The car later made its way to Jersey and was besmerched when it was used it for the outdoor flame painting demonstration at Lead East and they shot yellow and green flames over a white base after extending the fenders to not fit 77 Lincoln taillights. The car was then painted green /gold flames but never returned to its ISCA show custom status.
Although my '49 isn't chopped I have a lot of pics of '49-'52 Chevys on my web site. I'm sure you can get a few ideas from that. Here's mine the way it looked this fall. It's being "tweeked".
Here's my '49 Fleetline last fall...... dont have any really good pics of it yet..... still work in progress....... hope to get it in paint in the next few weeks........
