My gut instinct is that it wouldn't cool for long. We have the same power train in our 48 Desoto. I'm lowering the radiator core support mount 5", flattening the splash sheild behind the grille (in front of the radiator), and adding a 5" section to the core support collar. That alone should give us about 122 ADDITIONAL square inches of cooling surface. Will send pictures if you PM me.

Well I guess technically I am not building a Mopar. It’s been basically done since 1996. 1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe Club Coupe in Cruiser Maroon, it has a stocker 217 with a split manifold, Overdrive, 12 volt electrics, and Radials. A great road car with 45,000 since building<O:p</O:p

Is there any interest in all of the (prior to 1960) MoPars from H.A.M. B. getting together at the 2011 MoPar Nats? I wonder how well we'd be received. Maybe too much primer might "dull" their high $ show......

Beautiful!. I live for the day our MoPar looks this good. Great job on your firewall. That's where I'm at as I write this. I figure a 7 degree slant (to the rear) will clear the engine & kick down linkage.
    Enjoy it in good health.

Work in progress over the last 20 years. 1941 Dodge Business cpe., 230 c.i. flat-head 6, Fluid Drive, three in the tree with a Ford 8.8 rear. The way it was and the way it is. Great thread!

I have a 37 Dodge Brothers 2 door, 46 Canadian Dodge 2 door, and a 48 Canadian Dodge 4 door with a 3 inch chop that I am tinkering on right now.

I also have a 72 Dodge Coronet Police car that I am collecting the parts for right now, if I could find rear quarters it would get built right away... at least I have the Police radio and the light bar! :D

I'm not sure it's old enough and I'm not even sure I am going to fix it,but I just bought a 63 Fury convertible with the original drivetrain to save it from the crusher. Very solid body except for the floors.

I'll probably just try to get it moving under it's own power and then try to find a restorer that wants to buy it. I already have too many 30's and 40's projects that need my time and money to be fooling much with something from the 60's.

  19. My 39 Plymouth I got a little over a year ago, before and nearly finished. All pretty stock except for 218 flattie with Edgy head, intake, langdons cast headers and full 2" stainless exhaust system. Hope to be on the road by Christmas.
