How many own no OT vehicles at all? My only car in daily use is definitely OT, but I've got no aspiration to a new or even recent car. Over the past twenty years or so I've gone from avid interest in the current cars, through indifference, to downright hatred. It's pre-c.1975 from here on!
Abandoned in a side street, not too far from Finksville is a 2003 wheelchair accessible Mercedes with less than 12,000 miles on the clock. As a high-level quadriplegic it's what I bought to use to get me from a to B fresh out of 10 month stay in hospital after my accident. I never use it, and constantly think of it as a blight on my life. I wish I could sell it and be 100% hamb friendly, but I have this really aggravating little voice in my head that says "you better keep hold of it in case the Kripple Kart let you down one day". Still, it's handy for my sons rock 'n' roll band to to travel to shows in, but the fact that my name is on the title makes me feel deeply deeply ashamed, no matter how often I wash my hands. There, it's out in the open. Please don't hate me too much, I'm not a bad person Paul
My van would most likely not have been considered HAMB friendly, so now that it was totaled by a drunk driver and since I don't technically "own" my wife's car all I am left with are a '56 and '32 Ford. I am hunting for a replacement van so I won't be all-HAMB, but it won't be newer than '75.
One '41 Plymouth pickup. O/T vehicles include a '66 Dodge, a couple of '70s vehicles, and a couple of late-models.
I own 4 HAMB friendly cars. The wife owns an '05 Silverado. I should be driving one of mine daily soon (if I can get my shit together).
I just sold my 94 GMC and bought a 70 Chevy truck. I realize 70 is ot here but still somewhat fits the discussion.
New guy here - One of those long time readers, new to posting. Does this/these count ? My newest car is a 1960, Studebaker, 2dr. wagon. Slowly turning into a hot rod. Been driving my newest car,a -40 deluxe coupe, as a winther\work car the last 6 years. This is up north in Norway... The other cars is a -36 coupe, two -32 coupes and a -32 roadster. Live in a vintage house with three old motorcycles and a wife that likes old stuff too.I enjoy every mile in my forty, and I think it can handle another 50 years of winther driving.
Newer cars can be cool too. You guys are weirdos. I'm a car guy I like cool cars. Albeit mostly old ones, but I'm into a lot of new ones too. Cool is cool. I have friends that play with new porsches, audis, stuff like that, and I'll say that some of the technology in new performance cars and what they can make them do is AMAZING.
Aside from my 32 sedan and 54 F100 the only thing slightly OT is a 76 F100 I have. I refuse to own anything newer.
my dailys are a 67 skylark(my first car) that ive put 250,000 miles on it in the 6 years since i started driving and a 1962 ford f250.im 22 and the skylark is the newest car ive ever owned. i also have a 55 caddy. my wifes daily is a 62 comet and the 4 doors are great for loading the kids in back. never had an interest in a newer car, i get 24 miles per gallon outta the 300 in my skylark and my wife gets 18 outta the 302 in her comet.
