Well after trying for over a year, I finally was able to buy this 57 pickup. I remember this truck from high school '74 and always thought it was cool! $2000. bucks and ironicaly there was a '57 parts truck in the local paper I scored that and it has a 57 hood and some other good parts! What do you guys think? I finally have something a little more HAMB friendly.
Nice truck! Very cool that you got the parts truck with correct hood. I always thought the 57'-58' looked better.
It definetly looks funny with the 58-59 hood... good call on putting the 57 hood on it. Big window too. very cool. I sectioned the roof on mine. I removed the visor-type area above the windshield and blended the top of the windshield smoothly into the roof panel. I sectioned the cab 3" to make it more proportional to the bed height. Rounded bed rails, a set-forward tailgate with El Camino latch, and a pair of Lincoln Premiere tail lights in some round-rod constructed fins finished off the bed.
Great deal, Man! Hey...I grew up in Garden City...who in the hell there has all the roadster body parts??!! I could use some of that!!!
Thanks guys! I better keep the location to myself for now. there are some other HAMBERS on here that work for this guy and if they want to tell that's fine.
My truck in highschool was a 57 ford f-100, and I miss it dearly. I had it from 10th through senior year and it was a blast. I am always looking for another one as mine is sitting in a field now behind a house just outside Mackinaw City, Mich. (I went to school in Mackinaw city) Congrats on the truck, some say they are the ugly ducklings of the forsd trucks but I think they are one of the nicest they ever made.
Nice truck! I like it. Better be careful what you have for back ground in your pix, kinda takes the attention off what you are trying to show.
It just looks like a familiar location. I won't say anything else. It is purely speculation on my part...
I can't wait to get started on this,I would this weekend, but my Brother and I are heading to Mo. in his 55 crown for the weekend.
I'm glad that he and the oldman sorted out the pricing for you. It will be good to see something actually being done with it As to the clutter in the background - interested parties PM me and I can relay questions and offers to the bosses.
