Event Coverage You have GOT to be KIDDING ME ! (Dave Crane's 2010)

Dave Crane is one of those people,... you know the kind,... after meeting him for 10 seconds, you feel like you have known him all your life,... A quick smile and a warm greeting with a firm hand shake,.. and a genuine welcome, As he looks you square in the eyes and says,... "I am so glad you could make it" that he truly means from the bottom of his heart. I have had the privileged of knowing Dave and being able to call him Friend, for a number of years,...

Dave has a sign in his Museum that says,... "Its not the cars,.... it's the people" But there are so many people from Dave's (And Drag Racings) past embodied in these cars, engines & parts,... That this little Museum keeps these people close, and never to far away from Dave, Although several of these people are scattered all over the Country,... and some have slipped the bonds of this world,....

For a few hours every September,... As the stories start, and the memories flow,.... they are all back together again in this very space, where the objects of there passion, and countless hours of blood, sweat & toil, rest silently like suits of Armor from victories won long ago,... But a part of History that will never be forgotten,....

Out of all the events and shows I go to from year to year,... This is the pinnacle event for me,....It's more like a family reunion, or going home after a long time away,.....

Dave and his lovely wife are indeed the most gracious hosts you could ever hope to find,.... I could never imagine all of these items, including some precious items on loan to him from trusted friends, in better or more capable hands, or in a more fitting or honorable place than this,....

Dave,... From the bottom of my heart (as well as many others), Thank you so much,... for having the vision and forethought for assembling this wonderful collection,... and keeping those days,.... and people alive,....

Very cool. Clue me 1 to 2, dual overhead cammed SBC and a 2 barrel intake. Is it just sitting there or is it bolted down ?

WOW I used to ride my bike to Walts and stare at the Puffer through the window. Walt was scary to a little kid back than ( ha-ha ) What a great thread. BTW Rudy your Kid passed me going about 90 in your roadster on I-96 through Livonia ( Caught up thinking it was you , honked the horn and got a who the F*** are you look ha-ha)

Walt was a male model back in the day,.... and he likes to show off for the ladies,...... And I understand women that can bake cookies, are of special interest to him,.....

Walt is a friend and a really good guy.

 

Met Dave at the Autorama this year and he invited us to stop in on the way back to Wisconsin. We did and I wish I could have spent another day there. Dave is a way cool guy. Don't come any better and I do remember the car/people sign. So true.

 

That is a sweet little museum/shop/paradise thingy.
