Since I live 9 miles from this show I went up after work today to check out the scene.Show starts Thurs PM but the cars filter in all week. Here is some early bird shots I took in the hour or so I was there.
Mad Max car, right hand drive, real blower with Scott injection.Pat Musi motor. Damn, tach came out blurry.Still trying to get used to new camera and the autofocus.
BuckSnort, nice job on Pics. Glad to see that new Camera is not completly Kicking your Ass. See you up there Thurs , early evening.
I helped get that show started in the Lake George area, way back when. The first year, at LG was wild. Flamethrowers, burnouts and arrests. Don't think it's like that anymore, but still probably fun.
i remember that red duece coupe from my old rod run days,,it was powered by a 427 ford !!,all steel, has not changed a bit,,i think his name was crazy richie,,he used to hammer that car every chance he got, king of the burn out/sideways club
trailer shot is funny so many make their way there like that , but noe me ! had a fellow car guy come up to my car and was looking it over and make the statement this guy drives the hell out of this , i said i know , he says no he[me] passed me on the northway and i was going 75 , this thing didnt get trailered , [guess before i got there some were saying it was trailered up there ] i said what were you driving he pointed to a 57 chevy , i said oh yea i remember you , he finally realized that it was me driving when i past him, he laughed then
Richie is a long time friend, was also an avid snowmobiler, he has stage 4 cancer but he's a fighter, say a prayer for him.
Thanks for the pix. I like the wheels on the yellow GTO. They look like they might be a new release of a 60's wheel, Cragar maybe?
Economy did not seem to affect the show.Place was jamming.Crowds were biggest I've seen.Night cruises were good though got a little rowdy and the cops shut them down a little early.Managed to get the TV show done Fri morning.Lots of good times, good friends, great cars and little sleep.
That's him alright! And he drives it EVERY day. He just took off from here in Buffalo a few weeks ago.
Don't know him but a lot of my friends do.Met a couple of times. That's him to the right of his car.Neat sign and license plate.Wishing the best with his battle. He drove the wheels off that thing during the night cruises.
It has calmed a bit.I been to every one.My brother has videos when burnouts and crowds in the street were commonplace.Cops were heavy handed for a few years after that. Now when things get crazy they blockade the streets, every one of them and the cars disappear so the crowds do also.Little smarter than being tough guys and banging heads.Drive through the village and surrounding area after the show and there are rubber patches all over.Cops can't be everywhere.
I remember checking the price.45k crossed out to 35k.Sorry no phone.Tons of cars for sale.Might see it at Burlington this weekend and will check it out.
Thanx for the super pix , what a bunch of cool rides. The black Packard sedan restoration really knocked me out. I could go on and on about my faves, but appreciate everyone tuning out for the classic event, again thanx for the coverage. ~Sololobo~
Not a bad setting for the show. A top 50 pick.Local guy.35 Ford with a Ford engine. An eyecatcher for sure. Drool. 20K original miles.
Hang in there Richie. Best of luck!! I remember the good times at the Norsemen Rod Runs in Gloversville and Capital Area Rods Campouts at Frosty Acres. Thinking about those I think I'll have a cold one. I can still see Richie hanging in the rafters!!!!
