This is a pretty good Bill of Sale form. Keith It beats writing one on scrap paper. http://www.teambuick.com/reference/bill_of_sale.html
Great form, buyer and seller should have a copy. I aways have the buyer sign a copy with the day and time of day so I have, as the seller, proof I sold the car. If the car is involved in an incident two hours, or two months, later I want some proof I didn't own it at the time.
thanks for the link, i now have a standard form... the last bill of sale i got when i bought my '56 Olds was a total mess. and now sadly i have to use it in a fight against the IRS because they think the car is worth more than what i paid for it and they want an extra $800 in taxes...
Thanks, I've saved this and will make some copies. It is also a good idea to have copies made of any title assignment in the event buyer decides not to register the title. In Ohio, the car is in your name until the buyer registers it.
Are you serious? So even if you got a deal on something, you still have to pay what they think it's worth? Wow.
