Just a quick (and maybe simple?) question for the shoebox guys here on the HAMB ...

Are heater blower assemblies from 49-51 the same ?? Ya know , the part with the squirrel-cage motor under the hood ?

I have a '49 Shoe with a missing blower unit . Can I look into all years of shoebox for a replacement ??

I'm kinda new to the shoebox scene , so I appreciate any input that can be given .

    Thanks !

post a pic of the heater, my 50 had the fan under the hood, the 49 parts car I bought had a 3 door heater with the fan mounted behind it.

so you have a box without doors on the front and a long-ish fiberboard extension sticking out one side? If so send me a pm, I got what your looking for and its yours for the price of the shipping. (motor is shot but its all there) I also think I still have the heater control valve too if'n ya need it.

It may take me a bit to find it though.

speaking of shoebox heaters, what 12 volt blower motors replace the stock 6v?

I used part number BK 6551022. Biggest difference from the 6551020 is the shaft diameter, 1/4" versus 5/16".

Negligible I'm sure, but the 51 was a two speed blower ...
