I am sorry to be so late in posting news of my brother's death...... DON_WOW, Jerry Weger, Lawrenceville, Illinois........ born Dec. 15, 1940, died June 29, 2010. Jerry was 69. He had been diagnosed with lung cancer last Thanksgiving and took 5 chemo treatments and got rid of the lung cancer early this Spring, he had a couple of good months in recovery and then developed 2 brain tumors which resulted in his passing this past June. Our 92 year old Father passed away 8 days later.........so it has not been a pleasant Summer this year. I am sure DON_WOW never mentioned his health problems on here but his wife and 5 kids wanted me to post and let everyone know what had happened. Jerry enjoyed reading all the posts on the HAMB daily and many of you got to know him thru his knowledge of Oldsmobiles. Jerry doesn't have suffer anymore and I am sure he is missing this place. Thank you, When the going gets weird, The weird turn pro. Rod Weger DON_WOW's Brother
Loosing someone close is tragic (I just lost my mother 3 weeks ago) loosing two in such close proximity I can't imagine the heartbreak. My condolences to you and your family. May they live on in the memories that all of you shared. Frank
We lost one of the good ones. Jerry helped me with Olds parts and info more than once. His knowledge and passion for Oldsmobiles was second to none. I had plans to visit and bring my '49 Olds someday. My condolences to you and your family, Rod. I'm so sorry for your loss... RIP Don_Wow.
thank you for posting this terribly sad news Rod, and so sorry to hear it.. I never met Jerry in person or really got to know him but felt a great connection with the man through his generous sharing of his vast Oldsmobile experience and knowledge his presence here will truely be missed. rest in peace Jerry
