trying to post a practice photo so why not test you fella's. For scale the outside diameter is 11 inches
Looks like some integrated hub/brake for a wire wheel of some kind... given the size of the holes for the 'spokes' and the width of the brake surface I'd say bike? But beyond that I got nuthin...
I think is '40's-'50's Italian or French racer--think I have a picture somewhere. 8 or 10 hours rooting through olde books at home and I'll have it...
this piece goes on the same project when I tried to post more photos I got this message POST requests from foreign hosts are not allowed. wonder what gives?
I'd say Early Caddy or Pierce Arrow rear but I don't remember any wheels with those ribs. Other than that, they look about right. No bolt pattern means maybe European knock offs and drums, pre disk brake. Having said all this, it's probably a damned Fordson or IH cornbinder tractor hub! Nice quiz
I´d say it´s not from a car at all. My first thought was a front brake drum from a 60s-70s race bike, maybe Ducati? I´ll think again... Chris
english front drum, say round 60-65 maybe, triumph, bsa,or something, maybe rickmann metisse?matchless g80s?the backing plate would have a huge scoop for cooling, the short wires would be just a few inches long, rim size 300x18",getting warmer? norton commando? triumph truxton? can´t think of any more, wait enfield interceptor?
750KR? Or a rear hub from a HD drag bike circa late fifty's... 1957 maybe. http://home.ama-cycle.org/membersonly/museum/images/b87/HD_LeoPayneSportster_600.jpg
