Oh ...... I'm in on this build ...... since I saw the boxing plates ..... I might just incorporate that into my '46 cpe. build. Very nice. PACO
got the rear spring hangers tacked in and the rear cross member made and fitted this weekend. Welded threaded bungs in the rear cross member for the shocks
Got the ladder bars and panhard bar made and mounted. axle was then removed assembled to try and stop it warping and fully welded.
Got the body resting on the chassis now Started to remove the seat riser and floorpans The next job is to make the subrails to mount the body to the chassis
Bit more done this weekend. remade the bottom of the firewall so the front of the body is channeled about 1" over the chassis. Got the new tyres fitted to the rear aswell
Taildraggin ... what a stupid idea! ... why would anyone in their right mind build a HEMI-powered Coupe on Deuce rails? All joking aside, it looks great! ... please continue to keep us posted on your progress!
wow your a artist i just have a couple questions what does the die for the flared holes look like? also how did you do the rivets in the k member? did you put the rivets in hot? like in steel construction buildings?
I'm pretty sure Kelv did the rivets the same way Pete (Nutrocker) did them on my Model A chassis. They're cut to length so they just sit below the suface of the steel you're riveting and then welded, not a structural thing purely for asthetics.
Would like to say a massive thank you to the following (in no particular order) my sister Jay, Pete, Dean & Julie, Russ & Jo, Nathan and JP oh and of course Kelv, for what they achieved in the Garage this weekend. It didn't all go to plan thanks to the powercut but we achieved so much more. (i'll let Kelv fill you in). Here's a few of my pics.
