Im not sure how well new cragars look with old patina but I may paint it someday. What do you think?

  2. Red X, but it is allright, they are Cragars, they will be rusty by Labor Day anyway ;)

  3. The correct size Cragars and the right tires will give good contrast to older paint on a 55, the altitude and attitude of the car will play a big part too! Good luck! :)CGM. Oh, go with blackwalls.

  6. a tri-five could have been in primer by '64, so it looks correct to me.

Here it is in case you are showing a red x on your end.
It has its original harvest gold paint but has had a few places fixed and blended in with matching touchup paint, then sanded to dull a bit

They look good.. I like the hi-roller stance without going the straight axle route......

  9. That's funny as hell:). Don't know if the new ones use better chrome or not, but the old ones sure suffered if you didn't keep some wax on them (like every day!).

Nice. Shiny cragars always catches my eye no matter what they're on.

  15. cragars are now available in one piece polished aluminum. those that look too close will spot the difference, but most will never know. at least it will end the rust problem.

Had a set on my Ranchero for 20 years. Never did rust much. But that's in Ca.
They look fine on the 55.

I'd go with skinny fronts......oh, wait, I did...

BTW, it's kind of like bolting on power steering

Ive had sevral old sets of cragars and never had any major issues with rust.
This is my first new set of em, they are all 15x7s with 2 inch backspace (reversed hoop)
deep dish 60/70s style that I like.
I needed the 2 inch backspace in the front to clear the balljoint spacers.
I thought about going with torq thrust originals (TTOs)but they didnt offer the narrow backspacing with the dish I wanted, so that made my decision for me.

    Thanks for the comments!
