I have a 1950 Chevy Styleline Wagon, and I picked up from my brother a 1989 pontiac firebird with a 305 TBI motor. After inspecting the firebird for a DD, I concluded it may be better as a donor for the 1950. The 305 and the 700r4 would go in relatively easy, but what about the rearend? I know I will have to add leaf spring mounts and shock mounts, but will the rear width be OK at 60.5"? I have a set of IROC 16" wheels that could be used for the axle difference (rear IROC wheels have more backspace than the front).

I think you'll be o.k. with the width, I have a '51 wagon that has a '69 camaro rearend in it. chassis enginering rear leaf kit, everything bolted right in place of the stock leafs. I'm running stock 15" rims and my skirts fit.
