Hot Rods 1936 Ford Panel Truck Driven after 45 Years!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 51farmtruck, Jul 14, 2010.

  1. GREAT RIDE! Is that the original dash? It's different from my '36 car dash.
If that's your dads car it's all the more special!

This thing is bad ass... I love the engine turned panel for the guages and its overall appearance. It looks good as is and will look awesome finished.
    Enjoy It,

ANTNY : On the crossmember question , Yea it was as easy as it looks. that and a reverse eye spring and 4" dropped tube axle made it to low, the radius rod was only about a half an inch from the steering box mount, had to put more leaves in the spring. Chris

Gotcha. Sounds like I should plan on leaving my crossmember alone then, and simply use the 4" dropped axle and reversed eye spring. I want mine lower, but not crazy low. Thanks, Chris!

Nothing better to see than a Father /Son project. A couple of years ago I gave my son my 51 ford truck that I had over 30 years and since it was a driver already we just did a real nice cosmetic over haul. My son was home from Afghanistain a couple of weeks ago and after 8 months of combat was ready to take the old ford out. Watching him pull it out of the shop for the first time in a couple of years was well worth all the work.

THANKS I have two sons that are into cars and motorcycles not drugs and alcohol thankfully! were all going to HOTRODORAMA next weekend, im taking the panel truck, my oldest son is taking a cadillac powered model A and my youngest son is taking a 51 chevy pickup that we choped 5 inches a few years ago. If you keep them in the shop, they dont have time to get in trouble!! we started a 32 sedan last fall for my youngest and hope to have it out in the spring. If you have kids, get em out in the shop... it just might save their lives!!! THANKS Chris

Chris, don't know if you did this yet but put an add in the wanted section of HAMB classifieds, I have had great luck there! Maybe the Ford Barn also.
