For the gruesome details, (and shamelessly plugging my dismal blog) check it out... http://flynbrian48.wordpress.com/
Wise decision. I'm optomistic too and know how it's easy to get pumped about something. It's smart that you passed.
yup, at least yours was free, I paid a good sum of money for a "restored" 1970 Shasta Compact trailer that ended up having nice panelling put over a rotten structure. it leaked like a sieve at the first rain. I ended up stripping the entire inner structure out and started replacing everything. I resealed everything and after 2 months of restoring (call it obsession), we used it for the first time the week before the 4th of July. A few pics so you can see what I was up against and where I ended up. Bud
You really missed out on that free, but $25,000 and 2500 hours of work, trailer/camper. Don't you feel stupid? What would you have hauled it with? The Prowler? Hahaha!
Nice job. We have a '53 "Tini-Home" 14' canned hamb () that's as rotten as your Shasta, so I feel for you. I've seen them "restored" with squirt foam in the seams... Brian
You didn't even mention the 500 screw or nail holes in the sides of it that hold the shed to it. Interesting trailer but sometimes you just have to pass on things.
Cool story but I would like to see bigger pictures of the mess. Your thumbnails are to much for my old crooked eyes.
Yeah, can we see some bigger pics? It will be a shame if it ends up being scrapped but I understand why you bailed!
