The film was in production from 28 March to 25 May 1955. When the production began, they used black and white film stock. Eventually, they decided to switch to color film stock and had many scenes reshot in color.

I missed it too. Just did a search on the Uverse and its not showing it repeated anywhere.

I thought it was shot in color, first time I saw it was in the '70s on late night TV, seems it was color then too. (Before Ted) Although I dream in color too.

Craaaaap! I missed this post and all good flicks. I was having my bowl of O's at 0500 this morning and ran across the Wild One and was bummed because I only had about 15 minutes before leaving for work. I tell the missus this evening over chow that I was bummed for misssing the W.O. and she goes on to say that she had insomnia last night and watched all of those good flicks on TCM. unfortunately neither she nor I have experience with DVR. Maybe next time!
