  1. Don´t know about looking like a penis, but you sure do look happy! And who can blame you!! Love the car.

Simply fantastic. Love the K-member work. I need a plasma, a tig..an oh yeah, an amazing amount of talent to go with it. Take some vids when you hit the strip..too cool.

Been out and about most of the afternoon, Nathan in the coupe with myself in my roadster following and behind me is my wife and daughter in my 51 F1. What becomes apparent is how cool the coupe is. It tracks in a straight line and just wants to go. The gearbox is a gem and works very well and the standard french 4" flatty is awsome, maybe even faster than the tuned 3-3/4" crank flatty I have in the roadster.

Only one problem has so far, and that's oil finding it way into the rear drum, so guess we'll have to have a look at the seals even though we've only just replaced them, maybe it's just been overfilled, don't think so but we can hope.

All in all I'm really pleased with the way it drives and looks, and the sound from the quick change is just music to my ears.

Thanks for all the great comments on my work, always nice to be appreciated.

    Pete

Just stumbled onto this thread today .... and have read it start to finish in a single sitting! What artistry! What craftsmanship! And what commitment to your vision!

Can't tell you how much I admire all the details ... from K-member, to those incredible headers, to the torque shaft bracket, and on endlessly. Finished my `30 coupe about 6 months ago (a totally different vibe) and felt really good about how mine turned out until I read this thread. Now I think I'm gonna take it totally apart, put everything into boxes, and ship them all to Pete. That guy is awesome!

Thanks so much for sharing the build with all the mere mortals on the HAMB!

Maybe you guys could sort out a busmans holiday for Pete to visit the US and work some of his magic on your Coupes, I'm sure he'd really love that (not sure about his better half though!)

As for the oil issue on the rear drums, I'm going to try out a pressure release vent on the top of the diff.

Happy doesn't even come close, literally feel on top of the world when I get behind the wheel of the coupe.

    Well Done Nath!
I didn't realise you'd won the Meltdown when we were chatting yesterday - I would have congratulated you.

    Yep. Well done Nathan.
Not bad on a borrowed motor. What's it gonna go like when you get yours back?!

Cheers guys, have to admit I didn't think I stood a chance but I guess that's racing!
The motor that Jim's building is going to be a bit of a beast in comparison, hopefully we'll get to run it at the Hot Rod Drags later in the year and see what the difference is. Got to admit that this racing lark is a little addictive
