O/T Anyone have Info on a '29 White?

I have a friend working on a 1929 White 2 ton truck his Grandfather bought new. Searching on the web turns up nothing, but a few pictures.
He is looking for point gap mainly, but any other info or parts available would be great help.
It is a 4 cylinder
He gapped to Ford specs and it doesnt want to run right.
Playing with the timing, right before Back to the Fifties made it run hot all weekend. ( maybe some of you saw a giant red/black stake bed dumping antifreeze)
I know the power of the HAMB is great! any help is appreciated.

Ask over at ATHS.ORG As for timeing, use a vacuum gauge, probably close to TDC.
