There are still some good rare parts there... To bad it's not salvageable.

  3. Next time my wife wants to take a mud bath-I have pics to show what that crap does to steel--think of what it must do to skin. The most helpful thread I've seen this week.

naw dude, thats a rat rod! just stick a SBC in it and weld up the parts that fall off!:D

sad thing is i know people who would do that.

could be some good parts though as others have stated. maybe a few wall-hangers as well if one was so inclined.

i say leave the mud in it when you go scrap it:p

Reminds me of the 57 Plymouth they pulled outta the tomb in Tulsa..:)
Sometimes as crazy as it sounds getting them out of places like that is more exciting that the car/parts themselves. Can't explain it, but i know that feeling.
Hopefully there are some savable parts left to either use or sell.

Thats exactly what I was thinking when I saw this.

  7. I'd be taking all of the glass out- cut the roof off, if it's not too bad and sticking it in the shed for use on another project. just about anything can be sold, at a price- find somewhere where they advertise parts for those cars. pls i've seen people buy bad cars like that to do up!

  8. Ditto. I was thinking this thing looks better than that '57, expecially cause we didn't have to watch Boyd in the video.

Actually, I'd rather see someone RR it, than to see it get scrapped. Once it's scrapped, it's gone forever.

One only a mudder could love this one, what a shame. I do see some rare stainless trim etc. however. Good Luck ~Sololobo~

If you pull a car out of creek like that, you're almost obligated to bring it back. The story and before/after pictures would be too good, people's heads would explode. This one is almost as good as those guys that picked up that body with the pedal-powered hippopotamus

Did it come with a matching title ;)

  16. The vent window assemblies are worth some dough, so is the stainless, and the steering wheel looks incredibly nice - no cracks at all.

I would not be scrapping that car. I would just hose it off and park it somewhere until I found otherwise for it.

My thoughts exactly. Without seeing it up close and personal though, it's hard to know just what it could be turned into. There are some miracle workers out there ya know.

  19. You suppose the guy dug it out since June?
