The sparkplugs on our small block Chevy interfere with the headers. Before I go cutting into the headers, do any of the manufacturers offer shorter plugs?

ACCEL makes "shorty" header plugs, Check summit or Jegs

Over at the hotrodders bulletin board they claimed that the Champion RV92YC stock # 930 and NGK BR6FS stock #4323 are just as short as the Accel shorty plugs. (4323 is for a marine application.)

And they cost a lot less.

  12. I use and have for amost 20 years lawn mower plugs in my race and streetcars. I cross the heat range. On 383/400 /440 mopars it is also a big problem and this solves it. Autolite 2974 or 2976 is what i use . also CJ7 or CJ6. A sbchevy with double or triple bump heads uses CJ8 I beleve but double check. Now before we all start postualting how lawnmower plugs are not a good idea, you should know that one of my racers running out of my shop ran a set in his racecar for 10 years and only changed them out of shear guilt as they work very very well. And of course put the same plug number back in.
