I need a fitting that goes from a mid 70's Chevrolet caliper banjo bolt to a #3 AN female line. Any idea who would have one? I talked to a lot of the vendors at the SW Nats in OKC a few weeks back and no one really knew anything.

Mark Williams shows some fittings that will screw into a 1/8" pipe, can you directly replace a banjo fitting with a pipe thread or will it leak?

    Thanks

I did this once on some early calipers using a AN3 to 7/16-20 IFM adapters and copper washers.

They also make an AN to Banjo fitting.

  3. Check out a dirt track supply company. I keep the #4s on hand but we never have used the 3s. And the pipe threads won't work !!! Speedway shows a 7/16 x 20 thread #3 as a part # 617-4132 >>>.

Aeroquip makes AN banjo bolt adapters, I used them on a Mopar front disc swap...

So the 7/16-20 is what the GM caliper uses?

I bought some weird flare nuts from Inline Tube once. Maybe they can help your application as well. http://www.inlinetube.com/

Yup it's 7/16...... allstar part number 50062 for the banjo and the bolt is part number 50072.

    Hope this helps

Oh ya it's 7/16 if its a big gm 73-77 caliper, if its a metric 78-87 the inlet is 10mmx1.50 pitch.

Thanks. I ordered the kit from Speedway. It should have all the stuff in it I need.

Find a Earls Performance Plumbing supplier in your area. They make all the weird stuff. Race Car guys can get the hook up.

  12. I second that, Godman is good.

  13. Or in your area check Parr Automotive or Smileys, they stock them as we get them often.

I too have used Inline Tube with success, they carry more automotive-specific fittings than most of the other AN vendors.

This site is a great site to pickup stuff.

I solved a similar problem by buying pre-made banjo to -3 stainless braided lines. Probably would cut out a fitting if you did that.
