One of the very first people I contacted about contributing to the art show was Bernie Ramirez. I have always been a huge fan of his unique style and was curious if his art could translate into something different like these helmets.

    I say YES!

When I opened this up I was blown away.....I think many people were wanting to get a chance at this on the day of the show. We only auctioned off a few that day. We asked Ryan before the show to see if we could auction these off here on the HAMB and Ryan agreed!

So THANKS to the HAMB and Ryan for helping us out!

info about the auction and who has helped out that some of you may not know:

Not sure the HAMB knows what we put together for the Vintage Torque Fest. Jimmy Flintstone contributed helmets to the art show and these were sent out to the artists that agreed to help out back in October. The artists were asked to contribute whatever concept they wanted to the helmets. Almost all of the artists have agreed to contribute the proceeds from the auction to www.helpinghannahsheart.org

This is a medical expense trust set up to help pay the many medical expenses that have accumulated over the past 3.5 years.
For those that dont know, our baby has had different procedures throughout her 3 year life including open heart surgery. She will have to have more open heart surgery again in about 5 years. The doctors have to be paid in order to keep on doing more surgery.
I will get more details as people want to know them.

Visit www.helpinghannahsheart.org for details on what she has gone through.

These helmets are a direct cast off an original German M40 WWII helmet and will fit with the proper lining installed. These helmets are NOT DOT approved so dont think you can wear this out on the street with your motorcycle.
I hope you all will bid these things up.

These helmets cost $40 with nothing on them - just the normal resin.
Add the cost of the time and energy and paint that was contributed by each artist and you see that the helmets SHOULD go for over $100.
The helmets that were auctioned off at the show went for about $150 - $200. But we did not have enough time to auction off ALL the helmets....so Ryan has agreed to auction them here on the HAMB and he has been very gracious in stating that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to www.helpinghannahsheart.org

Thanks for looking and we hope that you will continue to support the cause.

Next Week I hope to Auction off a Helmet to help out Punk Rod Todd with his cancer treatments...........anyone out there that would want to help contribute to that cause - perhaps we could put up a few things at the same time?

I hope that Mr Ramirez can post up some info on how he prepared this helmet and what the inspiration for the different images was..........

I guess no love for the Bernie guy.
John asked me a while back to give a little info on my self and I lagged on that, sorry about that.
I was raised in sunny So-Cal in Ventura county and lived about a mile and a half from the beach. My trusty Stingray bike made the beach my second home of sorts. My father worked in the auto industry doing custom work for race cars and Hot Rods to concourse quality restorations. Having this background introduced me to old cars as it was a big part of my world.

I am not only an artist but I also drive them too. My vehicle these days is a 1936 Chevy Lowcab pickup that I need to get out more often. Thats where the Lowcab part comes from. I moved to Houston Texas about 20 yrs or so ago so Texas is now home. I do very few shows during the year but the one I do not miss is the Lonestar Roundup in Austin. I want to thank all my supporters that always come by and say Hi at the shows. I try and contribute as often as possible to the Friday art show here on the HAMB. Lots of talented people.

About this helmet, Thanks Jimmy Flintstone for providing the "canvas" to do my thing on. I was very honored to be asked to contribute to help out Hannah. I hope that you can help her out too. That is what this is really all about.
