So I'm in the planning phase for my coupe, and I know that photochopping can open its own can of worms because I need to see the car in person to really decide. But I'm having a hell of a time figuring out the ride/stance combination for this car, mostly because it's a Nash and the proportions are different than what we're all used to. So here it is, I have my own opinions, but I'll keep them to myself for now and ask the HAMB-holes what they think of these options: (By the way the hood is going away)

Stock (not an option, you should probably see what I'm starting with)

Option #1: 4-inch chop, 4-inch channel, and a 6-inch ride height all around with 28" tires
    [IMG]

    Option #2: 4-inch chop, 4-inch channel, and a 6-inch ride, 28" tire in front, and a 9-inch ride, 31" tire in back
    [IMG]

Option #3: 4-inch chop, no channel,
and a 6-inch ride, 28" tire in front, and a 9-inch ride, 31" tire in back

    Thanks for the help!

I think the first picture looks best but maybe with bigger wheels n tires. Like the ZZ Top car.

I almost always prefer a highboy with a healthy chop, so I pick option #3. As far as ride-height and tire diameter goes, I like larger tires over smaller, and don't care for the top of the tire being higher than the wheel-well. But how much someone chops and/or channels their car is a personal thing, and has to do with more than looks. How tall are you? Have you figured out how much head-room/leg-room you'd have? If you'r gonna have trouble getting in and out of the car, or end up driving with your knees up to your chin, you should take that into account.

For some reason the car looks really long and the tires look small in those pics.

The last pic looks the best to me. The splash apron adds hieght to the body and gives the look of the car being shorter. Maybe a 32 ford frame would look good under it or maybe a roll pan on the sides to add hieght to the body.

I'd do something about the roof behind the door and maybe shorten the rear quarter a bit.

  20. 3. But maybe slightly less rake.... I like low, but the channel doesn't work with the classic fender arch, IMO.

Dude! That's looking pretty good, and not channeled, which is a big part of what I'm struggling with. (I'm not sure about "a little more off the top" :) ) But "chopped and channeled" sounds so good, and it's what I started off planning on, but the consensus is leaning toward option #3 (no channel) which, truth be told, is what I'm thinking looks the best also. Sometimes you have to depart from what you want and let the car "tell" you what it needs.

I was planning on whitewalls, by the way.

    I prefer #3. I don't care for #1. #2 is good, but I like #3 better

Modified option #2; Less chop; maybe about 2", more channel; about 5", and with rear fenders, filled up with bigassed tires, of course.:D With hood, bottom of which would be cut off to fit on top of the frame at the front.

(kind of like I did my Nash hot rod............he, he) I lost the side apron, replaced it with a 3-inch rocker.

I'll add; I don't think a spare tire would work on the coupe.......
