First off, this is not mine & I have no connection with it at all. I thought it was cool & figured you guys would think so too. I have never seen one like it before. would make a cool swap meet hauler. There is a couple more pics in the ad but I could not get them to save. Here is the ad: http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/diamond_t/unspecified/1081817.html
Now that's cool! I could just see a "parts wanted" ad....Needed: Rear quarter panels for a '38 Diamond T teardrop van. NOT! Actually, it looks quite complete & restorable. I was at the national antique truck show in PA yesterday & I can tell you that there would have been quite a frenzy over that thing.
It was built for a Canadian distiller, "Seagrams", I think? I remember reading about it online, it was built as a promotional delivery vehicle. I also think (if my memory is correct) that it was built by the same outfit that did the really cool "LaBatts" haulers. I will do some searching and see if I can find the arctile.
set that on a modern chassis, good air ride and some cool wheels, then go on the power tour wiht it oh, don't forget the air cconditioing and plasma TV with satelite. Later
That is canadian dollars, would be less for you in greenbacks. and if it is a one of one & complete, where are you gonna find another?
OK, here's this badboy's history and it was coachbuilt for Seagrams.... http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/...eagrams-diamond-t-found-awaiting-restoration/
