What a great car! I can sniff the sweet stink of pure HOT ROD all the way up here. Smells like trouble..
the heavy chop looks perfect with the hiboy theme. personally, i think there are far too many hot rods inches off the ground with the top of the tires almost to the roof. its good to see a bare bones hot rod like they used to be. i love the car, great work!!
Very Nice i like it heavy chop like mine was gonna go back up but might keep it that way 6 or more chop
this was the first ford i had ever driven with a chevy in it, and that was just last week. TALL is the look in my book.. awesome car matt..
I agree, I think if people would look at more magazines from the era they want to emulate instead of old skool gayrods, they would have a more accurate traditional car, In the case of this coupe, I looked at the newest part on the car, that being the 1958 283, so I decided to look at hot rods from 58-64, the thing is I didnt look at show cars I looked at drag cars, I looked at the cars in the background shot at the strip. allot of those cars were rough, I did some research and determined as a drag car in 58 the coupe would have been a B/Altered, so from there I looked at all the B/A coupes I could find, and allot of them were not that low. So the stance, seatbelts, and square role bar help give the car its era distinction. Another thing I did was I didnt over think the car, when I got the chassis it had some funky wishbone mounts and I was real tempted to re-do them, but I decided that they looked gross because they where actually done along time ago, and it helps give the car its primitive backyard drag car look.
I like it. I questioned the square roll bar initally though.... I'm impressed that you went from a good body without a chop on bare frame to that in only four weeks. I'd like to see the trend move from easter eggs, rat rods, and airbags to more of the everyman traditional..but then I'm biased. Chris
So, bad ass hot rod coupe or bad ass hot rod roadster heads-up in a drag race....50's style from a roll?
I've never had any problems with a single pot master. This is one of the sickest cars I've seen recently. I love the tall stance.
Its in Vallejo, I will be at billetproof. and It will be at the Norcal knockout show at the Vallejo fairgrounds July 3rd.
