I know its been a while since ive updated but I have since acquired some firestone white walls and have been working on getting this thing lowered. I will eventually install airbags but heres a look at what i have now. 3inch blocks in the rear 1.5 coils cut powdercoated rims satin black and 670-15 firestones 3.5 whites. Deciding on spider caps or bullet lugs and center cap?

I really thought the 3inch blocks would get it lower than it is debating on taking a leaf out has anybody done this and which leaf did you pull out and how much did it drop just the quarter inch or was it more like an inch?

It's typically referred to as reversing the eye's, but since what you're really doing is flipping the springs over and reversing the arch with a press or a BFH, I just said "reversed the springs". I also removed the second and fourth leaf, and yes, I had to notch the frame, I made my own (not much to it), but a lot of the guys here use Gambino's.
If you reverse the eye's, you'd be wise to grind down the rivet on the front perch so it doesn't contact the spring, and weld the perch in that area.
The springs are pretty soft, the cars not on the road yet, but I'm going to install some heavy duty Jeep Rubicon gas shocks that a friend took off his new Jeep (I use what I have). They're pretty stiff and should help.
I love looking at all the fantastic chassis work some of the guys do here, but when it comes to my stuff, I like to stay simple.

thanks for the info i called a local company called benz spring said he could reverse the eyes for 60 bucks a spring. think i might try taking a couple leaves out and seeing what it looks like think it will drop another inch or so? will have to see.

looking good! If youre still deciding on spider caps or bullets, heres a pic of mine with spiders. Not lowered yet, and deep blue rims, but you get the idea :D

  27. Looking at the side view pic (post # 41), outside, after the paint, it appears that the rear wheels are too far forward.
In that pic, was the stock driveline in the car ..... or is it an open driveline with the rear too far forward ?

You are over due to get your second wind and get this thing together.
Theres your encouragement, now get after it!
Once you do, you will wonder why you hadnt done it sooner.
