Wow, either Legos are a lot different now than when I was a kid or I should have read the instructions.
Actually, I saw this documentary about guys in AFOL (Adult Fans of Lego) today:
AFOL A Blocumentary from AFOL on Vimeo.
I left it playing in the background while I was at work, and glanced down every few seconds. There was a badass LEGO car guy on there - I tracked down his FLICKR through the credits: http://www.flickr.com/photos/12622904@N03/sets/72157601848628351/ Here's some of his stuff: ~Jason
I thought y'all might like it. And would you believe in that documentary I referred to earlier, THE GUY THAT MADE THESE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A CAR HIMSELF?!??! He's not some stuck up ass, either - he just lives next to all sorts of public transportation that has stops like right outside the door to his work, store, etc.
You're not too far from Legoland in Carlsbad... In one of the shops, they have big bins full of "bricks" and are $7.99 a 1/4 pound,so choose wisely.
Is that Chev Carryall driven by those two maintenance guys on the "MTV Song" (Money for Nuthin) by Dire Straits? dj
Those are really cool! I cant wait to get home with my kid tonight to start our own builds!!!! This stuff is really great.
Whoa ... good thing I did a search ... I was just about to start a new thread entitled "O/T: Roth's Mysterion ... Made with LEGOs!!!" ... but since Abomonation already started this cool thread about the very same Lego Cars, I'll just add my "would-be post" here ... Way off topic ... but my 9 year old son is a LEGO® fanatic ... and tonight he showed me this very cool Lego Cars photo set ... with (as he said) "all kinds of HAMB cars" ... including this Lego interpretation of Ed “Big Daddy” Roth’s Mysterion:
Sorry about stealin' your thunder there, man. I saw that - When Dave built the real Mysterion, I ended up with some of the linkage leftovers. LOL! ~Jason
Jason ... no problem ... no "thunder stolen" My son was stoked that you had already posted Lino M's work on the HAMB ... He really enjoyed reading your thread with me ... mostly because it allowed him to "school me" on the fine art of LEGO building and LEGO lingo ... I had no idea what the "SNOT technique" was ... kids and their silly language (SNOT is an acronym for Studs-Not-On-Top) ... this morning he asked me if there were anymore LEGO related threads on the "Hokey Donkey Message Board"
LOL! Honkey Donkey! Did you guys watch that documentary I'd linked to? It was pretty cool, too! ~Jason
