I bought a stepvan from a guy here in town some years back...like this one...

I had a big amp box to put in the back, and as I was running the wires over the pocket door sliders, they got hung up in the overhead compartment.
So I reached through the overhead panel to see if I could pull them through, but something was blocking the way.
I found the usual krap...like an old mouse nest up there, plus an old roll of toilet paper stuffed into an old plastic bag. I had a trash can next to me and was thowing this stuff right in, and as I was getting ready to throw the TP roll into the trash, I noticed it seemed alittle heavy, and something seemed to be stuffed inside the core tube.
So I pulled the roll outta the bag, and inside the core tube was $575 in crisp brand new bills!!! They were all dated from the early 70's.

Somebody musta forgot their 'stash' money up there! hahaha  (I hate it when that happens!)

  6. a 1985 or 87 commemorative pope J.P II coin under a section of carpet in my current
ride. Also at Nick's Salvage yard a wierd coke can(in a falcon) that said "KOKA KORA" i think they were gimmic cans for the olympics or sumthin but i never seen one before and thought, dang thats racist .:)

  7. Mr. Pickles ?!?!?

  8. The original owner's Foster-Grant sunglasses in the glove compartment of my '64 which were like new (still got 'em) various handy, useful hand tools from cars I've bought over the years.

The strangest find was a brand new door lock mechanism sitting inside the driver's door of my old '73 Datsun pick up - seems the person on the assembly line had forgotten that he'd already had one to install when he came back from his sushi break!

My latest roadster has a interior that was put in in the 50's. The doors are stuffed with old clothes used as sound deadening --pants & shirts from the 40's. They are all stained and torn, but have been there for 60 years.

My other roadster came from a farm, and sat in a garage since 1974. There was a horseshoe under the seat when I bought it. So after I finished hot rodding it, I put the horseshoe back. I used screws, placed it under the floorboards --for good luck. Seems to be working.[IMG]

I purchased a 1930 Model A tudor from a guy that used his collection of cars in the movies. The car had multiple paint jobs depending on the movie.Under the seats and all over the back floor I found all kinds of Glass (movie type) from being shot out, bullet casings, and cardboard license plates in different colors and years in the mid thirties.(N.Y)

  12. I purchased a 67 GTO from the daughter of a guy who had passed away. The car was mostly together and the trunk was full of parts. After getting it back to my shop I unloaded the car to take an inventory. Stuffed up behind the right rear fenderwell and quarter panel skin barely visible was a plastic bag. I pulled it out carefully and there were 4 generic brand VHS tapes...old ones.
When I went into the house that night I brought them in, assuming they were family home movies I would return to the daughter. I told my wife where I'd found them. I stuck one in the VCR. Turns out the first one was a old XXX tapes from the late 60s or 70s he must have recorded....The look on the wifes face was so funny that it makes me laugh today remembering it... She was pissed because of course I had to check the other three out! They were all old porno's to my wifes dismay.

    Good Stuff.

I spotted a '57 Corvette on a used-car lot back in 1964. It was a Tuxedo Black-and-Inca Silver Powerglide and listed for somewhere under a grand.

Two hours later it was mine, and the only clue to its origin was a score card for golf at the richest golf course in the area -- a private country club that charged the highest fees.

The card clearly marked the holes used were from the ladies' pins.

A cherry 'vette from a country-club lady. Short of scoring a historic deuce -- what could be better?

A 20 Dollar "Silver Certificate" in the door behind the window regulator in my Grandpa's Chevrolet. I put it back when we repainted the car. :)

  27. Went to the junkyard a few weeks ago. Pulled an overhead console out of a conversion van to use in mine, had two nice storage compartments with doors and the middle divided off for an electrical switch panel and made to fit right in over the windshield and visors. As I took it down, a Mac Tools buckknife fell out where it had somehow gotten pushed behind the middle section where the wiring was. Good sized one, the blade is like 4 or 5 inches. Still pretty sharp, too.
