Found this in July 1988 over at the supply dock in Avalon, Catalina Island. Anyone have any more info on this? History?

Sounds like the perfect opportunity for you to go to Catalina Island to investigate. I've been there twice. Last year I drove my 16 1/2' family boat there and back from Dana Point. It's awesome there. It's a small town with many residents there most of their lives, it won't be that difficult to find out the car's history.

Is that the same one that was displayed as is at the Oakland roadster show?

I believe this is the one that Bruce Glasscock (who found/restored the R&C dream truck) displayed there. I remember there was a pic of it in R&C when it was 1st brought back in the 80's in some Oakland coverage. It said he found it on Catalina Island.

Check with the library in Avalon. There might have been a story on the car or owner at some point. Libraries can be a great source, they have helped me do research in the past. Good luck.

    Good luck on your search.

Twin Harbors is my favorite but Avalon is cool too.

I found a stock 29 model A roadster p/u on Catalina about 20 years ago--it's a plumber on the island--used to be the guy's dads whenhe was the plumber.I tried to talk him out of it--and almost had it for a trade for my chevy 1/2 p/u,but he wouldn't do it---damn!
