ive only been married for two years and i already know the rules.... its easier to ask the wife for forgiveness then permission isent it?
Tell you are going to build it for her, let her have the the first drive after the initial " 'round the block". then take it it back from her! Just remember, "If mama aint happy, aint nobody happy!"
I hope you have that as tied up as you think you have! I've had a couple of deals that went south because of time delays. Sometimes delays are unavoidable due to money or health, all others should be shortened or eliminated if at all possible! Good luck I hope you really do get it. Dan Stevens dba, Steelsmith
I vote for you drivin' it...just to make sure that its spider free, before handing it over ! Cool find, good luck and keep us posted. / primerkid
ive got bits of a 29 packard and was never fussed on older models, but im coming around to liking them. thats one hell of a score for the price. you did good.
As much as I love hotrods, there are some cars I just can't imagine rodding... this is NOT one of them! You just don't see those cars anymore, so you have a 'blank page' to make it a really cool cruiser! I'm thinkin' BBC, AT, AC and low, low, low. With those lines, you won't even have to chop it for it to look great. Whatever you decide, make sure you do a build thread so we can follow the progress!!!
I'd be all over that! That is the best-looking post-war Packard, bar none! If you get it and feel the need to sell it after the wife bats you over the head with a frying pan, PM me...seriously!
There are actually two projects here: A Cummins-powered cruiser, and a Packard-powered lakes modified. Go for it! -Dave
Grab it up quick before it's gone. Who cares what other people think as long as you like it. I think its cool.
