Hey Bob and this from Larry Watsons mouth...back then it was all about the trophy's and winning at those shows with your car! I don't when it became traditional to not show your car or win trophies! watson still has tons of them at his place...going back to 58!!!!

    Wow that is really awesome!!!

  6. The shows I went to as a kid,at the Great Western Exibit Hall, had lots of cars with trophies in front of them. Trophies at an indoor show is kinda cool! Really goofy at a Cruise Night.

  9. Some of the photos have been in the little books, but the newspaper articles haven't! Plus there was the club rules, old fliers from shows,a page for each member, with pic's of his car,a description, etc! It's amazing! Hope he starts sending me the rest soon! Maybe I can ask him to send me stuff on Thursdays,so I can post up on Friday nights. I'll keep you guys posted.

I just cant say how cool it was to see all of that local history layed out right in front of me. Even though I was lucky enough to be there and see it all in person I still cant wait to see it again here on the HAMB. Thanks again to Trace for bringing it all out for us to see !

That Ford was built for Ray Moore (a childhood friend of Larry Watsons) by Van Leeuwens Garage in Artesia Ca. I had Larry Van Leeuwen on his knees working on my 48 cad quarter panels one day when Watson came buy, It was like homecoming listening to them bs. Ray sold it then body work by Ed Schelhaas and paint by Watson

Thanks for posting this bad bob! That book is really a gold mine. I just recently found out that the renegades were first established in 1941 by 5 members. The club didn`t exist very long as the boys got drafted. After the WWII 3 of the original members revived the club and kept it going until the early 1960s. Does the book have any info about the first renegades? Who they were, and what car they drove?

Being from Long Beach, I am also obsessed with the Renegades. Here are some courtesy cards and a membership card from my collection.
