Ford block casting #

    I got this number off my block..
    C3DE-6015-E
    Any one know how to identify it?
    Can't find it in any searches.

    C=the decade of 1960, 3=year. So the block is a 1963 block. Could have been used in later years however. The D means falcon, but also could have been used in other falcon sized cars. 6015 means it is and engine block. The E is the engineering version number.

    Numbers will not tell engine size.

    It's a 62 Fairlane 500. Straight 6. Used to be a 221 v8

    Ha! I wish I could put a bigger mill in there. I'll have to settle for the 200. Just redid all the suspension. :eek: Wife was not happy about the cost. Doing the steering now. Rear leafs fell apart when taking them off. Got some new 1.5" whites. Cant afford the cragars now :(

    That's not realy true on many Ford part and casting numbers. The C3DE part of the number really just signifies the FIRST application that it was used in. They could then decide to put C3DE blocks in Fairlaines and Mustangs and anything else it might fit in for years after that. When they change the block for any reason then they would give it a new number. It's one of the reasons Ford stuff can be so hard to nail down.
