Hate to say this HT...but I doubt few, if anyone, 'hangs out' at his shop.

There looks like alotta work being done there, and anyone just 'hangin', would be run off for being in the way.
I don't mind it when someone wants to check the progress on onna my projects....but then I gotta get back to work, so it doesn't take me long before I 'run 'em out'........(or hand them a broom!)

btw.........this is such a tough car!!!

Yes true, but when I hang out in someones shop it's to learn. Looks like I could learn volumes from him. I always offer my labor to compensate for my hindrance.

I should be getting an original speedometer this week. I have the tunnel in the car currently. Looks great! Thanks.
Just trying to get the sheet metal all finished so that I can do a bare metal photo shoot.

Car looks awesome. When you started I wasn't sure if you'd make speedweek. With your progress it looks like you'll make it without any problems.

It seems like forever since I have had anything to post new on the car. Ive been slaving away on mounting the steering. What a job!

The box has two mounts, one on the cowl, and then one that spans across the transmission and the firewall. I made a brace that bolts to the frame and comes over the trans that holds the bottom.

Then the column is held using a 40' truck drop and shaft. I made a bracket that the shaft slips inside that bolts to the steering box. It's all nice and strong now. Next its figuring out the pitman arm, and steering arm.

The steering installation looks great. Some of them don't look safe but yours looks correct...nice and strong. I am curious, will the interior be finished with buckets and have a back seat? After racing you may want to put this car on the street as it has the look. Keep pushing the envelope.

I'm getting some original seats so it will have the two buckets and the bench seat in the back. Other than that the rest of the interior will be striped down bare. You will see the back side of all the metal and all the wood. You'll look right through the roof and through the louvers.

Looks great! I really like the way you set up the steering with the hoop over the transmission. Are you going to put any holes in that piece at all?

Looks good...How far out of the cowl does the box stick out? Aso what pedals are you using?

It will be under the trans tunnel so I wont worry about putting holes in it. I want to put as much wood floor back in as I can. I might have to be creative in the front area.

It sticks out about 3" to 4" to where the pitman arm is. I plan on mounting the tie rod on the back of the pitman arm so that's why it needs to be out that far. I will be making a blister that covers the whole unit and the arm will just stick out the bottom.

I plan on using the chassis engineering clutch and brake pedals. They require some modification for the clutch pedal, but they will directly bolt into the center cross-member in the car.
