Everyone is posting 30's cars but the 40 Ford was my first thought when I read the title of this thread. and if this isn't a hot rod I don't know what is.

Where's the video of the black, full-fendered '32 3 window at the drags? The one where he drags (and tweaks) the rear bumper? That spins MY crank!

I grew up in 70s New Zealand, and back then a hot rod was a modified car up to around 48/49. I think once the term became accepted, it has been used to describe any modified car. Ive heard camaros called hot rods and John Forces race car.
I guess we are victims of our eras. Hehe.

customs and muscle cars don't cut it pre-48 with up-dated or modified power train unfinished cars ok but garbage rat rods don't!
