50s custom paint

Done with lacquer.....I was told it sat for a year before being rubbed

 

Just for clarification, the color on Juniors car was not a candy red. This was before candies came out. It was the old Sam Bronze custom metallic that he first mixed up for his 51 Buick in the early 50's. On the build thread there's an interesting story about solving the color problem. The color isn't the problem, we have that down (see pic). The original color wasn't a tri coat because the original wasn't, so it will be done base coat/clear application.
