So a few weeks ago 64% said to chop it so we did
    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=438193&highlight=41+business+chop

My Buddy Matt Means (packard8 here on the hamb) came over and in a few hours over a couple weeks we have a chop. Matt took a unconventional approach to this chop, so the outcome will be a little different than whats out there. Not all are going to like the chop, thats ok I dont like most of the chops Ive seen on other 41's- we all have different tastes. Heres some pics in no particular order... We are only 1/2 way done, still need to finish the door tops and a bunch of other things....Hope you guys like the outcome.

Thanks again to Matt Means (Dept of Customs in Anaheim),and Becky Huff for some of the pics.

Thanks for the kind words guys- We didnt want to monkey around with roof lines that we think are really cool from the factory, so rather than add (or remove) material from the roof, the roof was shifted forward- and a section was added above the trunk. This resulted in a longer trunk line, kinda zeyphr like IMHO.

  9. Do you plan on leaving the rear window that size? It seems a bit large when compaired to the rest of the windows.

Different is good in a traditional way? 41's get kicked around but I like them better every time I see one!

Looks good....I like this approach. as you said a lot of chops on 41's don't always look right. This will be a sweet ride. I have been a fan of 41's since i was 15 years old. I have a two door sedan now that i really love and will probably always have, but i still long to get a coupe...someday!!!

the goal was to keep the windows as close to original size/shape/location as possible. But I could see how that could work. Thanks for the honest opinions.

Looks great, I attached a shot of my 41. I have the original rear window, but it has more of a lean that gives the illusion from the rear that it's cut down.

I like that longer-in-the-tail look you have going on. I'm not a fan of stock '41s, but dang they make some of the prettiest customs.

The problem with making the rear window smaller is that the glass is double curved. Top to bottom and side to side. You could get into a real mess trying to cut it. I like the way he rounded the backs of the 1/4 windows instead of having a point on them as so many do.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Tonight we started working the door tops back in. Really pleased with the progress were making

  30. good looking chop. the only thing thats messing with my eye is not the rear window size but location. i'm thinking sliding the stock window frame down in the greenhouse might make it flow a little better.

    either way... good on ya.
