i have decided to put the ol studebaker to rest. the car has had an extraordiary life. having been owned by the world reknown ted harbit, then it set in a field for a few years, and then on to me. it has been a hell of a lot of fun the past few years. been to the coast and back. daily driven for about a year[while the caddy was down], hell it even got turned into a spin cycle last year hahahah.

i have been toying with the idea of completely going through the car and redoing it. its just not in the cards. it has become almost too dangerous for my liking....and thats sayin something. the cost of redoing it compared to finding another one in BETTER shape is way more. ill take the good stuff off and save it for another build, but the body and frame are just tooo far gone to mess with. just thought id share my thoughts as its kinda been a good friend to me hahaha.......

So what are you doing with the body and frame? I'm sure someone would want it.

There might be evil hiding under the paint but damn she sure photographs well. I'm not really a huge Stude fan but I sure like that one. The tilt front end looks killer on it. Frames can be replaced and like tiredford said, you oughta see what mine started this life as. My 55 was basically junk and ready for the crusher but I just couldn't give up on it.

Someone put it on the roof of their shop and just let it rust away in front of the whole world.:)

    That's so lame.
If you are 'done' with it, then put it up for sale to somebody that has the money and fortitude to get it back up to speed. Many of us have started with less and made something from it.

Park it out in front of the mall and charge $5 to hit it with a hammer.

That's easily salvageable. Don't take another gasser out of the world.

Looked at some back threads and the stude went to Ft. Dodge, Iowa. Hopefully it will make another cross country trip.
