Had a '60? maybe a bit newer, but not much, going to college way back. Total rust bucket. Wagon on top of things. The rear end sheet metal was rusted off even with the top of the rear fenders. Sounded best when the exhaust fell off. Had an odd quirk that the alternator (maybe generator?) light would come on any time you got over 55 MPH. After a while, you had to slow down to recharge the battery.

Good times, met my wife while driving that car. Thanks for jogging my memory.

The other memory is that my father let me take an auto mechanics class at the local High School (they don't have these any more, do they???) and I rebuilt the S6 (very small... 144 CI???) when I was 14, well before I could drive. The rebuild lasted me most of the way through college, when I sold it for no real good reason other than to get a cool car..... a Rambler Classic!!!!!!!!!

Here is mine, its in for some major work , we are painting it, new gauges and complete interior. Hope to have this puppy totally finished for the roundup in austin. The interior is getting a little over the top so we will cross our fingers!

Here's mine. All original rust free 64. Only had it since June and just got the new wheels on it. Still need to lower it (not sure about lowering the back but the front needs to some down even though it is setting level).

One of my customers - friends had a 65 2dr wagon back in the 70's set up as a gasser, blown 351 cleveland ,axle, black with pearl blue flames the car is still around sans motor I ended up with that for my 65 ranchero the guy who has it now just stripped the paint within the past few years it's sitting in a garage in farmingdale still has the blue diamond button tufted interio that was done over 20 yrs ago

  13. Couldn't agree more. I took my driver's license test in my Mom's '64 Falcon Wagon in '66. Then drove it thru my "formative" years. Dark green, woody with a 260. Any one seen it ?

cool car do you have any more shots of it? the wheels look cool and differant what is it about them , the caps or are the wheels painted silver, whats up with it?

  16. This was my first car. I got shit back in high school because it was a wagon. Also because it wasn't an Impala. I ended up selling it to work on my 64. I think it was a good decision, but sometimes I miss the Falcon.
