The #38 pictured is NOT Jerry Cook but was in fact, Kenny Meahl out of East Amherst, NY. Meahl drove Cook's car until Cook was old enough to get a Nascar license to compete.

So, Buildy, Mr Excite, JHed82, and Vintage61 ; Do you guys know the story behind the rollover of the #222 that is shown in three of those photos in posts 4369 and 4414? There are a lot of concerned faces in the pics, but I see a driver being guided away from the scene in one photo. Hopefully that was the driver and he walked away. There is some nasty damage there to the windscreen and car.

You are not kidding!!!!!!!! I thought my heart would stop. That went into my folder right fast. I wish it were larger, it would replace my Vanderbilt Road race screensaver.

Is the Evans pic from Thompson ? I remember Evans and Bodine putting wings on their modifieds and running with the supers. I think it was in the World Series event.

    Pete,

Neil38 has a really cool NH historic website. You should check it out.

I highly recommend it, there are some of the oldtimers I ran against up there included and info on alot of the NH speedways

I don't mean to hijack this great thread, but I have this old mod that came out of Pa. some years ago. The International truck hood, Ford 360, red paint job, racing seat, and steering wheel did not come with the car when it was brought from Pa. It has knee action front shocks which seems odd for the car. I can also see that some of the front bars from the dash area to the front were cut off as was a hoop behind the driver on the cage. The front spring is also two springs with seperate pivots in the middle of the crossmember. The car appears to have been painted yellow in years past. Any info on this car would truly be appreciated.
