This is my first post to the forum. I planned on keeping my thoughts to myself but couldn't resist. Your friends talent is amazing. I love everything about it. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

  9. At first, my pal Raphael would like to thank you all for your comments. It's really motivating him. So, here we go with another update...

While the copper tank is now finished since quite some time, he added the fuel lines

he couldn't decide what kind of trunk lid handle he'd use, so he made one himself from aluminium

the 1939 ford dashboard was modified to fit the model a interior

That's about it for the moment. Coming up next is the fabrication of the roof section... which is gonna be exciting, I guess. For more pics, please check out my flickr album.

WOW! Absolutely STUNNING gas tank! WOW!!!!!

Question... Since that tank is riveted, how is it sealed? Is every joint and rivet actually soldered??

    Incredible!

  11. Only the joints are soldered, but the tank was sealed on the inside with an aircraft specs sealer. Though, it wasn't tested with fuel yet. ;)

    Awesome build!

On the shocks, was the car "loaded" when shocks were safety wired? I take it that outer "nut" adjusts it's "friction"?

Lots of neat fab work on this one...

  23. Ok here we go with the latest update. The coupe finally got its roof, which means Raphael used some bits from the original 4 dr Sedan donor car and fabricated the parts he needed. The roof ain't finished yet, but you get the idea.

This is how it looks like right now.

    really does look great...

the proportions seem "right" for a 3W, 'specially considering there were so few photos of the original prototypes/case studies/whatever ya wanna call 'em.

awesome build, can't wait to see it finished!
