You might look at some of the small convertibles....Miata's, MG's, etc..Might be able to use the frame and cut it down some what or lay them back. But I do like the idea of older boat winshields. Or some of those wrap around boat windshields. Maybe a walk thru windshield with out the walk thru part. But the ones I like are the ones for the sport boats that are low and wrap around.

Hmmmmmm, gotta give this one some serious throught!!

I think you may be on to something here Brian. I'll be looking at boats for ideas now. Thanks! I have considered Miata, MG and so on but that just wasnt really floating my boat (no pun intended :D) if you know what I mean.

OK! I'm going to chime in a little bit on this one.

How about using your driver's side fender front 10 inches or so, as the nose? Perhaps someone following this post would have a usable front section of a passenger side front fender (you wouldn't need much of the fender). You'd have to put the radiator in the trunk (it's been done, but I don't know how well it worked). This has a 60's Ed Roth kind of vibe for me. Which is very cool, IMO. That dual headlight, small nose (even use tubing to make an original style grille, below the headlight). If the radiator is in the trunk, you won't need a fan on the engine. This will allow you to show off even more of your imagination.

I, like a lot of folks, look forward to your next update.

Man, I wish you weren't halfway across the country. I would love to see this project first hand. It seems to me that this is one of those rare projects that just has to be seen in the metal to truly be appreciated.

    Nice work!

I'd trim the little flare off the top, but this is what I was thinking. They come in lots of colors (I really like the one with the tinted base) and widths.

What got me thinking of these was my '59 T'Bird, which I'd like to chop the w/s on. Since it'd be forever topless, I thought a pair of these with an aluminum divider between would look pretty "jet cockit", since I'm thinking of painting it bright silver.

They'd look much better on a car the size of yours though...

Something that wraps around has been haunting my thoughts since the beginning of this project. Kind of like this

Ooooh. I kinda like this idea. I think with the fins, and the angularity (a word?) of this build, this would be awesome. If you don't go full bubble top, I vote this.

The flat boat windshield doesn't do anything for me. The curved one is cool, but those are tempered glass, VERY expensive (about 3K for the Bayliner style you have the photo of) and they'd be way too wide. Course, you could use Lexan, then a junk aluminum boat w/s frame could be cut down.

Boat Salvage Yard is what I was thinking - if I can find one within a resonable distance. Never know what I mind stumble across. Find a useable frame, cut it down and fill with Lexan just like you said. You are correct on new ones - Expensive!!

i think i would make a frame from conduit that mimics the plymouth windshield frame , except narrower, and way chopped... cut in a piece of lexan.. this car is coming out great!
