So, Ive been doing alot of research on paint schemes of the 60s... and Ive explored greens, blues, reds, suede, gloss, and one color that comes out a lot is pearl white.. or white with flake. Im at the point that I am really diggin dark almost candy reds and pearl white... and white and red was a stock paint scheme for f100s. So school me on pearl whites.. or white with flake.
look for larry watson paint jobs. a lot of his work was done in candies over pearl white. ive always been a huge fan of this style of paint.
You need to check out the truck Tom Pagano did, Mountain Pearl. it was a restoration of an old magazine cover vehicle. Cool story and even better truck. http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/featuredvehicles/0910rc_1953_ford_f_100/index.html
Along with this topic, what is the strongest pearl currently on the market? The most prononcued pearl effect? I still remember the smell of early pearls.
Please help me out on this one! This looks like the color I've been looking for. Looks like pearl white with a blue undertone, not real heavy on the 'flake, but a lot of what I call "character". Going on my '57.
