Unless I needed the money real bad I don't think I would try to sell anything right now. Lots of money was lost on some of the cars being resold that were bought a year or so ago. I saw several photos on here and on the Yahoo funny car site of the car as it was being restored and it was great.

65COMET: THANKS My car wieghs 2800# with me in it ( I an't no super model ) it's back haft, ladder bar, coil overs, and full chrome molly cage front to back... I destroked it because of (((VIBRATION PROBLEMS))) I found a crank up in Mich, it was a raw factory forged steel crank, they had cut down, so it's not welded... They took about 1/2" out of it(3.98 down to 3.50) sents I put that in no more problems...

SIXGUN;thanks for the reply.I got my 65 Caliente down to 2850 without my large ass in it,those sedans are light! I drove a new 69 F-100 for a shop truck for many years with the 300 and a three speed, that thing would go anywhere! You don't see many big 6 Fords being run. ROY

Wow very impressive 65.Hey do you think you would still turn low 12's with auto or in your opinion does the 4 speed make all the difference?

    Hello:

Please pardon my haste. I am at work now.

    1) With exception of the 1965 JC Comet, did any of the vintage A/FX 64/65 Comets run with "Engine Set Back"?

    2) How would a FE "Engine Set Back" go over on the street?

    3) Would the C6 auto be the prefered transmission of choice on a "Engine Set Back" Comet?

    Thank you

CENTURION;an engine setback should work fine on the street. An automatic would probably make life a little easier[not near as much fun],on fittment.I don't think they started engine setbacks until the Match Racing era took over with the "Anything Goes" additude. ROY

I couldn't get the link to work. Whose tires are you running on the rear?

Soda blasting it paid off. Had terrible leaks around the shop from the recent storms, water dropped on it,dribbled everywhere, and no rust. Guess the part where they told me it does not etch into the metal like sand blasting really paid off . Now, going to close the cowl up, finish weld some panels, then goodbye for a few weeks of painting!!

Falconred If it wont go, just punch in Hubgarage.com in your search engine and then 1965 comet in the search when you get there.

teddisnoke;your 64 looks like it only had a little previous dent repair.I don't see any rust outs on the quarters.I think your 64 is higher in front than Scrap Iron's 65!1 ROY

Just had Wheelkid make a set of rear wheels for me this afternoon. As soon as I paint them and get the slicks mounted I'll post some pics.........probably early next week. Muchas gracias to Jimmy for getting the wheels done and even delivering them to my house so quickly.

Teddisnoke, how many inches did you move the rear axle foward? And if so did you move the wheel housings also? Car look's great, can't wait to see it back together!!!!
