Rudy also built that roadster pickup in the background of one of the photos, I remember seing it on that auction site - thinking it was a bitchin build too.

    gotta love what he does.

I'm continually amazed that so much talent is posessed by one guy. I'm beginning to think it's impossibler for him to turn out a bad (as in terrible) car. This one is another home run.

I just noticed the '40 or '34 rear with the Model A spliced in the centr like the So-Cal Coupe. Nice touch!!! I might end up doing something similar on my '32 eventually.

He really does have an eye and two hands to create what he sees. Just plain rad.

haha talented metal shaping doesnt make a person computer savvy.
in fact, he is comptarded... but.... lots of hamb dudes know Rudy in some shape or form and can vouch for his integrity. :D
come to think of it, i know quite a few very talented builders that dont use internet for anything... it is a curse and a blessing...

FYI ... the socal speed shop/Billy G./Rodriguez deal is a cooperative endeavor.... thats all it is, nothing 'mo, nothing less. in the past, other shops have assisted with finishing builds... for example, the merc custom is being body worked/painted by Hotrods & Hobbies in Long Beach.... there is a post on it by lowsprings.

At the LARS in June of 2004 my friends and I were admiring Rudy's black '32 Roadster. We asked him about the build and one of the guys wanted to know about the gas cap, really a great looking old piece. As we were talking Billy Gibbons came over to view the car. We all stood around and watched, Billy kept coming back and looking we all knew he'd buy the Roadster and later found out he did. Rudy is a very talented builder and with a customer like Billy to appreciate his skills should have a long and very successful career.
