There's a nice gentleman here on the hamb that I met that has converted a '46 Chevy into a truck.
    Here's a pic.
I had thought of converting my ugly '48 Chevy Tudor into a pick up too.

The rear 1/4 panels are made out of SV21 Camry wagon roof skins. The gate is a VL Commodore ( Aussie only ) bonnet skin. Not real traditional, I know. But it fools most of the people most of the time....

Wow very nice. Now that is what I call a custom. You actually custom fabricated the back half from scratch. The word custom really means fabed from nothing . These guys that chop a top, smooth up the body, install different lights call there cars customs don't have anything over you. I like it, Nice job man!

Have yet to finsh it but it will be a gasser when it is done.Started out a a 4 door Hillman minx then someone tried to make a coupe out of it.this is when i got it and cut it up and used cab corners from a Fargo cab, back window and rear roof from a mid 40`s chevy truck and the back from a S10. Toddc your not the only one using sheet metal from other cars.

I've seen it a few times at the Golden Super Cruise in Golden, CO when I lived there. It is absolutely beautiful.

You might want to do your homework first. Cadillacs fall under the term 'Classics' and with the right car can be worth a lot of coin. A '38 Convertible sedan went thru B/J at $335,000! I don't care what you do with it, but it might be worth dragging the old girl to Hershey or Carlise to sell her as is.

Didn't the Downs glass 37 start out as a sedan / coupe? For some reason I can't post a photo... Gary

  16. When i read the title I thought, "man haven't we seen enough good '30's sedan bodies turn into belly dragging pos cobbeled together crap!" But then I read what you have in mind. I gotta say WOW, that sounds like a neat idea! I hope you'll do a build up thread, I'd love to see it going together.

  18. My Austin A40 Countryman needs the same treatment ( roadster ute ) that toddc gave to his 4door. Some nut replaced the roof with a VW kombi roof

This ones built on a car platform. We believe it's been a colonial coach built pickup all it's life though, and have it's rego history from new in NZ in 1936. One thing thats different from the cut down cars I've seen are the belt lines on the doors. Car ones go right through and these ones end in a spear.

    Well I wanted a 4 door English B.
I bought one blind when I got it the back was toast... so I made a truck.
I didnt want a round back, instead of moving the rear panel up I mostly hand made a cab back. The rear window frame is the top of one of the rear door frames. The roof I got of a mate no idea what its from but a bit of cutting and it worked I think it worked out OK
